Week 4

Week 4 -

Hello Room 6 and 7,
We will continue sharing our Learning Plans in Google Classroom. If you have more than one family member using Google Classroom and are having trouble switching between your various classrooms, we suggest one of you opening your classroom in Chrome and the other child opening it using Safari.

To access your Google Classroom, students should have received an e mail in their CBE email account, it is the one with      username@educbe.ca

We will have a Google Meet(ing) with each class (Mr. P on Monday at 1:00 and Mrs. Saunders on Monday at 2:00). We want to share some information with everyone and answer any questions you might have.
Please follow our Google Meet Guidelines:
  • Come in and mute your microphone until your teacher asks you to share
  • Find a comfortable spot to sit for the entire meeting – please don’t move around your room or house. We love your pets and siblings, but these Class Google meets are not the time to share those special family members.
  • Please use the comments tab only for questions for the teacher not as a chat spot with your friends.
  • Come prepared to the meeting with your questions and any work you are asked to share.
  • Stay focused on the meeting content as you would in a classroom.
As we asked for in previous weeks, we are looking for feedback if you have any. If you have time, we would love to hear from you. vipedenko@cbe.ab.ca or mlsaunders@cbe.ab.ca We are all figuring this out together and we want to make sure the work we are doing is working for you.

Take care,

Mrs. Saunders & Mr. Pedenko

Week 3 - Beginning Google Classroom

Hello Room 6 and 7,
As your parents may have told you, this week we are switching to Google Classroom to deliver your Learning Plans. We believe our grade 5 and 6 students are ready to jump into Google Classroom so we will not be posting our learning plan here in the Blog.

To access your Google Classroom, students should have received an e mail in their CBE email account, it is the one with      username@educbe.ca

If your child did not receive the email to their gmail account please let us know and we can share the Learning Plan with you in a different way until you can get on to Google Classroom.

If you are working on a tablet/phone you may want to download the Google Meet and Google Classroom apps before trying to enter the Classroom.

We will have a Google Meet(ing) with each class (Mr. P on Tuesday at 1:30 and Mrs. Saunders on Tuesday at 2:30) next week to see how things are going and get a chance to practice what this tool will look like.

As we asked for last week, we are looking for feedback if you have any. If you have time, we would love to hear from you. vipedenko@cbe.ab.ca or mlsaunders@cbe.ab.ca We are all figuring this out together and we want to make sure the work we are doing is working for you.

Take care,

Mrs. Saunders & Mr. Pedenko

Dear Parents:
As you know we have been given guidelines from Alberta Education that suggest we provide ~5 hours of schoolwork per week focused mainly on literacy and math. We will work to follow these guidelines and will continue integrating some of our science and social studies work that students have already started. Each week we also hope that you will be able to determine a schedule that works best for your family.

If you have time, we would love to hear from you. vipedenko@cbe.ab.ca or mlsaunders@cbe.ab.ca We are all figuring this out together and we want to make sure the work we are doing is working for you. How did the week go? How was the workload? How did things go for your child?  We will do our best to adjust things for the weeks to come based on your feedback.
Take care,
Mrs. Saunders & Mr. Pedenko.

Parents of students in grades 4, 5 and 6 have received the Accountability Survey from the Alberta Government. We encourage you to complete the survey and return it to Alberta Education. To date we have only 4% of our parent responses returned.
Your voice matters. Your participation in the survey helps provide important information on the quality of education your child is receiving. We also use the information gathered from the survey to inform our School Development plan each year. Please contact Mrs. Polski if you have questions about the survey.
