Highlights
What did you learn today?
We reviewed other tribes' locations for their temporary shelter.
How did you show what you learned?
We needed to rate each location as a 1,2 or 3. We also needed to look at the pros and cons of each spot and identify different hazards.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to see how we can improve our own shelter locations. We can take our learning to Nose Hill and find an ideal location there.

Breakfast with Grace
Agenda:
1 - Sign math and chemistry test (if you haven't already)
2 - Mrs. Saunders' math group - list grade 5/6 attributes of the following shapes: trapezoid, parallelogram, rhombus. And, we added kite and arrowhead/delta
3 - Mrs. Stephure - geometry placemat due
4 - Dress appropriately for tomorrow's weather - check the forecast
Highlights
What did you learn today?
We did our second day of Quick Draw - working on our visual memory as well as attributes of shape and measurement.
How did you show what you learned?
We saw a shape on the screen for 3 seconds and needed to draw what we saw. Labelled attributes (symmetry, angles, shapes, types of lines, etc.)
What do you need to learn next?
We need to use harder shapes to continue to stretch our knowledge.

Pentomino Secret Revealed
Agenda:
1 - Fun Lunch due Feb. 25th
2 - Math Homework - Draw and give attributes of the following quadrilaterals - square, rectangle, rhombus, parallelogram and trapezoid
3 - Sign math quiz and chemistry quiz - make corrections please
Highlights
What did you learn today?
We learned that there is a code in our book Chasing Vermeer. Every other chapter has a pentomino and a frog hidden in the picture.
How did you show what you learned?
We finally saw the pentomino hidden in the picture in chapter 9... Mrs. Saunders couldn't wait for us to find the hidden images.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to keep track of all the pentominoes from each chapter and see if there is a hidden message from the author.

Pondering Shape and Space
Agenda:
1 - Pink shirts tomorrow - How did this campaign start?
2 - Fun Lunch due Feb 25
3 - Math homework - Draw an example of the 5 types of lines - parallel, intersecting, perpendicular, vertical and horizontal
4 - emailing Ms. Cowdy kjcowdy@cbe.ab.ca
Highlights
What did you learn today?
We learned that a rectangle can have the same area but a different perimeter. We noticed that the more compacted the shape has less of a perimeter.
How did you show what you learned?
We found all possible rectangles with an area of 24. Next we applied what we knew to a dog run with an area of 60.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to move on to angles and types of triangles. We are looking forward to applying our knowledge to our architecture project.
