Sports Day 2018

What did you learn today?
We learned not to tug the tug of war rope for too long or our fingers go numb. We learned it is hard to let little kids win - not really! But we do like to win too. We learned how to work as a team and make sure everyone has fun. 
How did you show what you learned?
We visited 12 different sports day stations. 
What do you need to learn next?
We loved Sports Day and would love to do it all over again.

We learned that room 6 and 7 each won a pair of Celestron Binoculars. They won these from Green Calgary because the students submitted a blog article to the website below.

We had Stephanie come and visit our class and present us with the binoculars.

We held the first Dr. Coffin Transition Day - Grade 4s joined room 6 and 7 for the morning. Our grade 6s went to Mrs. Wilkens and Mr. O'reilly. They worked on their farewell and played kickball. 
How did you show what you learned?
We did spelling, edit fun and Quick Draw. 
We played kick ball, colored elephants, used stencils and grade 6s finished their farewell plan. 
What do you need to learn next?
We need to apply our kick ball skills to Mrs. Saunders' Sports Day station.

We reviewed flight and control surfaces with an amazing Guest Speaker today (Mrs. Saunders' very favorite guest speaker!!!!) David.

He reviewed the 4 forces of flight - lift, drag, thrust and gravity (weight). Rudder - YAW, Elevator - PITCH (up and down), Ailerons - Roll
