In 1925, an sickness thraetened the children of Nome alaska. The only medicyne that could save them wuz all most 1,000 miles away. Travel by air wasnt posible, so a relay team of dog sleds were asembled to carry the medicine. Carrots and Celery.... Let's eat!

Agenda:
1 - Field trip to Mount Royal University tomorrow
2 - Winter Walk day in the afternoon (time permitting)
3 - Look around your home for what you consider to be art. Bring the item to share with our class, if possible.

Highlights
What did you learn today?
We revisited the idea that oil and vinegar do not mix unless you temporarily shake it or use an emulsifying agent, like dry mustard. The dry mustard will create a coating around the oil droplets which allows the oil and vinegar stay mixed together and creates a salad dressing which many of us liked.
How did you show what you learned?
We mixed 60 mL oil, 15 mL vinegar and 3 mL of dry mustard. We stirred the dressing and dipped in carrots and celery.
What do you need to learn next?
We wonder what other items would work as emulsifying agents and allow oil and vinegar to temporarily mix.
Lessons we still want to do:
Elephant toothpaste
Friendly Cleaner
Coke and Mentos
Periodic Table of Room 7
