What did you learn today?
We learned how great it feels when you GIVE. 
How did you show what you learned?
We spent our morning filling all the socks with the various donated items. We filled 71 socks!!! This afternoon someone from the Drop In Center came to pick up all of our socks and other donated items. He answered lots of our questions and explained how the socks would be delivered on Christmas morning.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to go and let the other classes know that we donated enough items to fill 71 socks!

We had the opportunity to have a new experience as a class - skating at the outdoor rink or getting to play sports at a different site.

Some of us skated and others played soccer, basketball or on the playground.

We will need a few volunteers so check with your parents - they don't have to skate. If you aren't skating, you will still be coming with us and participating in other Phys. Ed activities.

We learned about different genres and titles of books that we would like to read.

We listened to (almost) everyone's novel recommendations. We took notes on which books we thought looked interesting.

We need to keep on reading and we will do a second novel recommendation in the spring.

We learned that so many people in our school show care for the environment, others and themselves.

We gathered as a school in the gym. Mrs. Polski acknowledged some of the kids who showed signs on care for self, others and the environment.

We are in 2 different groups for our work on multiplication over the next 2 days. Each group works on multiplication at their level. One group is for kids who are very comfortable with multiplication and a strategy that works for them and the other group is for kids who want to have more clarification about how to multiply large numbers.

While reading our Battle Bunny stories out loud to our classmates today, we learned how to incorporate stronger details into our stories from their feedback. We learned that a lot of our stories have words we think are understandable but they may not to be to our little buddies.

We each took turns reading the manuscript of our story out loud to our classmates and then our peers provided feedback about what they heard.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to finish the rest of the stories. Our next step is getting to add words and illustrations to our actual book!!!!!

We used the 'Hamburger Model'. The top bun is the introduction, the filling are your 3 - 5 ideas and the bottom bun is your conclusion.

We need to apply this to our journal tomorrow!

From our assembly today, we learned how to show calmness and respect during an important event.

We helped our school mates by modeling sitting still and not talking during the performances or dancing when the trumpet played.

We performed our piece with enthusiasm and jubilant expression. 
We set an example and tone for the rest of the school to follow.

What did you learn today?
We learned how to study for and write a test today.
How did you show what you learned?
We used a study strategy called Split Page Notes. We used our knowledge to share what we understand about wetlands. The test felt short and easier than expected. 
What do you need to learn next?
We will move into our weather unit next. We will be  building tools to measure the weather, we will continue to track the weather and we will research various weather phenomenon!

We did a new POW which we handed in after 45 minutes. 
How did you show what you learned?
It was about a girl who walks 2 dogs a day and receives 8$ a dog throughout the month of November. For 24 days she donated her earnings. We needed to use multiple steps to struggle through this word problem. 
We needed to use a highlighter for the important information. 
What do you need to learn next?
We will continue working on word problems.
