Ball, Hop, Tag... Run!

Highlights
What did you learn today?
We learned about similes and metaphors from Miss H. 
How did you show what you learned?
We made up a simile and metaphor and categorized them on the whiteboard. We also watched a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoSBVNUO2LU
What do you need to learn next?
We want to use these in our story writing, watch for them when we read and tomorrow we are going to learn about alliteration.

What did you learn today?
We focused on how our tribe can survive off the land. 
How did you show what you learned?
We used this knowledge to create questions with 4 potential answers for our Time Travel Game. 
What do you need to learn next?
We need to share these questions and see if others could survive as members of our tribe. Also, we need to focus our research on specific shelters.

We worked with our photographer resident and learned how to edit our photos. 
How did you show what you learned?
We took a picture using the iPads and edited our pictures after uploading them to the computer. 
What do you need to learn next?
We need to learn more aspects of picture taking. We also think we might want to use these pictures for our grade 6 yearbook.

Hula, Hula Hoop

Highlights
What did you learn today?
We learned the hula-hoop relay race in gym today. It was our student teachers' second lesson.  
How did you show what you learned?
We needed to hold hands in a circle and move the hula hoop all the way around the circle without letting it touch the ground. We worked as a team and tried to beat our previous time. 
What do you need to learn next?
We could try a new technique so we can be faster. We look forward to learning more relay races and having the student teachers teach us more lessons.

We got a chance to try several different instruments.

We got to view a presentation and try a few of them. If we couldn't try them, we got to hold them and see how they felt.

We might consider taking band when we get to grade 7.

Treat Day tomorrow!!!!

2 - We are headed to CJP at 1 pm tomorrow to view the Simon Fraser Band program. Students will get to listen to a brief performance and have an opportunity to 'play' with a few of the instruments. Please ensure you dress for the weather as we are walking there and back.
3 - Room 7 is hosting treat day tomorrow - please send your items with your child in the morning. Thank you for your support!
