What did you learn today?
We learned how to calculate perimeter and area of a rectangle.

How did you show what you learned?
We used meter sticks to find the length and width of 2 sides in Barrett Park and Whispering Woods. We then used these measurements and our knowledge of scale and made mathematical sketches in our graphing notebook. We found perimeter by adding length + length + width + width and found area by multiplying length by width.

What do you need to learn next?
We want to learn how to find the perimeter and area of irregular polygons.
We want to learn how to measure irregular shapes.
We want to learn about metric conversions.
