Learning Intention
What did you learn today?
We learned the snow can be a blanket (an insulator) for living things to be protected from the cold. Many of our containers of water showed signs of freezing. This tells us that our creature would not be able to survive the freezing temperatures.
How did you show what you learned?
We placed a small container of water inside our habitat. We left it for over an hour and then we went to check on it to see if it had frozen or not.
We then drew diagrams of what it looked like after the time period and wrote observations of what we noticed.
What do you need to learn next?
We learned that we need to follow a more scientific approach the next time we do this.
For example we need to control:
- for the amount of water
- type of container
- temperature of the water when we started
Do we need to repeat our experiment 3 times?
We need to discover what we need to do to not let our water creature freeze!!!
